Joyce Elaine Yuille was introduced to the world with her first solo album “Welcome to My World” released on Schema Records in 2015. The East Harlem New Yorker’s vocal style is elegant and simultaneously powerful and passionate, her sultry voice and invigorating live performances have earned her recognition and appreciation amongst jazz lovers, fans, jazz festivals and clubs around Europe within the last few years.

As a passionate admirer of the Cole Porter songbook, a project which she had only previously presented live, she decided to bring it into the recording studio for her second album which she produced, teaming up with her longtime band Jazz Inc.
Porter, one of America’s most reputable musical figures, was known for his urbane and witty lyrics along with a sinuous melody that verged upon a brooding quality. But an equally typical and equally recognizable Porter song would have a simple, bouncy melody and a lyric based on a long and entertaining list of similarities, opposite or contrasts. He brought such an individuality of style that a genre known as "the Cole Porter song" became celebrated.

“The Soul of Porter” is Joyce’s celebration of the renown composer, a tribute with a personal touch. A carefully chosen selection of Porter classics, rearranged into personal interpretations with traces of soul, blues and modern jazz, but still respecting the quality and genius of Porter.
Nine songs, each with their own individual charm and arrangements that intertwine beautifully with Joyce’s unique alto raspyness and alluring vocals, which are easily recognizable in tunes such as, “Every time We Say Goodbye” and “So In Love”.
